About Rob Stevens
I work with owners and leaders who want their business to feel healthy, stable and enjoyable again. The people I help are usually carrying more than they admit. They know culture, leadership and performance problems are slowing everything down, but they don’t have the capacity or clarity to fix them on their own.
My job is to give them both.
I’m the Managing Director and co-owner of Optix Solutions, a B Corp digital consultancy in Exeter. Under my leadership the agency has grown, improved its performance and been recognised for its culture by Campaign.
Before wavemind, most of my work involved rebuilding organisations from the inside. I’ve helped turn around teams, fix cultural breakdowns and reset performance expectations in businesses ranging from PE-backed scaleups to FTSE-listed companies. One project moved a failing contact centre from the bottom of national staff satisfaction scores to the top three, alongside record customer results. Another created three years’ worth of progress in three months for a UK-wide retailer, with the CEO awarding a personal bonus in recognition of the impact.
These experiences shaped wavemind. Strong culture starts with consistent leadership behaviour. Teams respond to what leaders do, not what they claim to value. Alongside consultancy, I’m a trustee at Step One, a mental health charity in Devon.
My views on leadership, culture and purpose-led business have been published in Authority Magazine. I’ve also been featured by Insider Media and The Maverick Paradox . I publish openly about leadership and mental wellbeing on LinkedIn. I'm also listed as a source for journalists through Qwoted. wavemind is a registered consultancy.
The reason I do this work is personal. I understand instability and its ripple effects, and I’ve spent years helping leaders build clarity, steadiness and balance in their businesses. Leaders deserve support as much as teams do. Most never receive it.
wavemind exists to change that. I work one-to-one with owners and senior leaders who want a calm, confident and sustainable way of running their organisation. The approach is straightforward and practical. No surveys. No theatre. Just honest work that gets people moving again.
